ASDA – Large American owned  national supermarket chain

AMF COMPUTERS LTD – Small business which manufactures computers and offers IT solutions.

1.                  What benefits will you as a company take advantage of if the change from the £ to the Euro goes ahead?

ASDA – cheaper goods from Europe. Trading with Europe is inevitable and if they trade in Euros then so must we.  Rumours of lower VAT.Increased sales because of lower prices.

AMF COMPUTERS LTD – Easier sales transactions with European customers and suppliers.  Increased European custom and possibly cheaper components sourced from Europe.

2.                  What disadvantages will there be?

ASDA – Checkout tills will have to be changed to conform to Euro.Changes in computerised systems.

AMF COMPUTERS LTD – More competition from Europe – possible loss of custom. Loss of home pride.
