Homely questinnaire

We have warried out a survey on a sample 45 people about Euro that will come into force on 1/3/2002. Our work has been based on two different bands of age:

Young people (under 30 years);
Adult people (over 30 years).

Our intervieweds come from every social class. The questionnaire structure is based on two rinds of questions:

Close-questions: to verify the knowledge of the subject;
Open-questions: to analyse the intervieweds' attitude.

We've examined and commented the data collected.

MOTIVATIONS TO QUESTION n°6 (AGE < 30)

Improvements and facilitations in the business field;
Difficulty to get used to Euro;

We'll have new investments and greater occupation;
Yourneys and exchanges will be easier;
We'll make use of new parameters.

MOTIVATIONS TO QUESTION N°7 (AGE < 30)
OPTIMISTICS:

Travelling in Europe will be easier;
Less unemployment;
Stronger economy.

NEUTRALISTS:

Indifference;
Difficulties with exchanges.

PESSIMISTICS:

Italy will be dependent on the other countries economically stronger;
There will be tradesmen's deceits;
Difficulty to get used to Euro.

MOTIVATIONS TO QUESTION N°6 (AGE > 30)

Travelling will be easier;
Buying will be more difficult;
Wages of every country of Eurolandia will be comparable;
To find a job in Europe will be easier;
There will be tradesmen's deceits;
We will have a creater competition among firms;
European accountacy will be uniform;
We'll make use of new parameters;
Inflation will increase;
Prices will increase.

MOTIVATIONS To question n°7 (AGE > 30)
OPTIMISTICS:

Improvement of economic and political conditions in Italy;
Travelling and trade will be easier;
We'll avoid exchange among the countries of Eurolandia;
It will be an advantage for new generations;
Every country of Eurolandia will be stronger;
Italian economy will achieve a good balance.

NEUTRALISTS:

We must wait to be able to judge;
The price of products won't change, it will be only expressed in another currency;
We'll get used to Euro like to other changes;
Indifference;
In certain fields we'll be advantaged and in other fields we'll be disadvantaged;
Nothing will change.

PESSIMISTICS:

Purchasing power will be halved;
We'll have sughtest advantages but intorelable.....;
Will be more difficult to compute the real price of products;
We will be subjugated to new economic rules;
Euro will lose ground compared to other currency;
Italian economy, not withstanding Euro, will lose ground compared to other countries.

Final comment

We have exmined the staticts obtained from the questionnaire and we have noticed that the majority of the people is able to understand the meaning of Euro and when it will come into force, besides being able to calculate its value. A lot of people think that Euro will change the life in the of work and commerce. Altogether we have noticed a neutral attitude, of indifference, and perplexity to face the calculation lire-Euro. Young people have a more optimistic attitude than adults, eho are sceptical. The optimitics think that travelling will be easier and unemploymet rate will reduce. The pessimistics think Italy will depend on stronger countries in the economical field. To conclude, we have noticed that the informations about Euro have been effective but people's opinions remain very conflicting.
